Bob Alig brings over 25 years of leadership experience in higher education, admissions, alumni engagement, and nonprofit strategy to his role as Director at Fortuna Admissions. As Admissions Director at the University of Pennsylvania, Bob oversaw a 65% increase in applications and expanded global outreach from 10 to 35 countries at its Wharton School. He pioneered a recruitment model that prioritized diversity and holistic evaluation by engaging faculty, alumni, and students in the admissions process.
Bob also served as Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations at UPenn and later led alumni strategy at St. George’s University. He continued his commitment to access and student success as Vice President of the Middle States Region at the College Board, where he spearheaded efforts to increase Advanced Placement participation and performance among underrepresented students — achieving a 91% increase in minority participation and a 99% improvement in success rates. At the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), Bob served as Executive Vice President, overseeing global school engagement and professional development for admissions professionals.
Bob is also a longtime board member and former Interim Co-CEO of Minds Matter, a national nonprofit serving high-achieving, low-income students. Across every role, he has remained committed to expanding opportunity and excellence in education. A proud graduate of UPenn and The Wharton School, Bob is also a speaker, mentor, and advocate for equity in education.
