Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fortuna’s Hourly Coaching service?

Hourly Coaching provides flexible, one-on-one support from a university admissions coach. You can focus on whatever aspect of the application you need – personal statements, interviews, strategy, or academic planning. It’s personalized university admissions counseling designed around your specific needs.

Who are your coaches?

Our coaching team is made up of former admissions decision-makers and experienced university admission coaches from some of the world’s most competitive schools. Many have served as directors or associate directors of admissions or are expert writers who have helped hundreds of students craft their best story. Each university admissions consultant on our team knows how to shape an application that stands out.

Who will I work with?

We match you with a personal university admissions coach based on your background, goals, and target schools. You’ll discuss your ideal coach during your free consultation and then work directly with them throughout your booked hours.

Do I need to prepare anything before using my hours?

It helps to bring your goals, academic grades, and any materials you’ve worked on. But don’t worry if you’re unsure where to start – your coach will guide you and help you get the most from every session.

How quickly can I get started?

Once you’ve completed your free consultation, we’ll match you with a coach and aim to schedule your first session within just a few days, depending on availability.

How many hours should I book?

The minimum is 3 hours, but many students opt for a 10-hour package to gain more comprehensive university admission coaching support – including academic strategy, school choice strategy, Personal Statement development, and final polishing. You’ll also get a 5% discount when you book 10 hours upfront.

What if I’m not sure how many hours I’ll need?

Not sure how much university application help you need? Book a free consultation and we’ll assess your starting point and where university admissions coaching will deliver the most value.

Can I spread my hours across different services?

Yes. Your hours are flexible – you can use them however you need, whether that’s school selection, expert guidance on your Personal Statement, or a mix of academic roadmap coaching and interview prep.

What if I need more hours than I initially booked?

If your needs evolve, for example, if you receive an interview invitation or want additional Personal Statement support, you can add more hours as needed.

Can I finance my Hourly Coaching package?

Yes. When you book 10 hours or more, you can split your payments into interest-free monthly installments through our partner, Splitit.

What’s the difference between Hourly Coaching and your All-Inclusive Packages?

Hourly Coaching is great for focused, flexible support when you know what you need, like Personal Statement feedback or strategy check-ins. Our All-Inclusive Packages offer structured, full-service UK university admission coaching services from start to finish.

Can I upgrade from Hourly Coaching to an All-Inclusive Package later?

Yes. You can easily convert your hourly plan into an All-Inclusive Package. It’s a great way to try out working with a university application counselor before committing to a full package.

Are your coaches experienced in working with international students applying to UK universities?

Yes. International students applying to UK universities make up a significant part of our client base, and our coaches are well-versed in the specific challenges they face. Whether you’re based in Asia, North America, or Europe, we’ll match you with a coach who understands your starting point.
