MBA Resume Review

Preparing a polished MBA resume is an art in itself. A Fortuna Admissions MBA Resume Expert will work with you to prepare and fine-tune your resume. Showcase your strengths and achievements in one brilliant page and stand out in the crowded admissions pool.

Personal Strengths Assessment

The MBA application process is loaded with formidable questions designed to surface your unique qualities, guiding values, intrinsic motivations and career aspirations. Beyond conveying your professional and achievements, the MBA admissions committee wants to understand who you are, what you care about and why an MBA is the vital next step. Answering such questions with authenticity and depth, in a way that’s compelling and credible to an MBA admissions officer, means first summoning that clarity of purpose for yourself.

Self-awareness begins with self-discovery, and that’s where our personal strengths assessment comes in. Fortuna facilitates an experience that grounds you in a nuanced understanding of your unique strengths, affinities, and talents utilizing the CliftonStrengths assessment tool. Our certified CliftonStrengths coach, Sharon Joyce, leverages its suite of sophisticated insights to help guide your MBA application process, from essay writing to interview preparation to overall presentation. It’s a process of naming and claiming your innate superpowers, allowing you to uncover new angles in your story and highlight those qualities as unique differentiators in your application.

The benefits extend beyond business school: A deeper understanding of your talents and strengths enhances self- and situational awareness, as well as confidence to perform more effectively on teams at work, b-school and beyond.

Admissions Director’s Evaluation

Nearly ready to submit your application? Sure you’ve done all you can to maximize your chances of admission? Submit it first to a Fortuna Admissions Director for a comprehensive review. We have personally evaluated tens of thousands of applications for top business schools. And then we’ve made the admission decisions – so no one else is better positioned to tell you how your application will be judged. We will:

  • Give you our expert opinion on how the Admissions Committee will evaluate your application package
  • Provide feedback on how to improve your application
  • Edit and polish your essays
  • Ensure your content is compelling and your case for admission clearly articulated

MBA Interview Prep

You’ve been invited to interview – congratulations! If you’re feeling nervous, you’re in good company – many applicants find the MBA interview the most stressful part of the entire process. Our team has conducted thousands of real admissions interviews worldwide. Knock out those nerves with our invaluable insights and coaching, and learn how to make the best possible impression during your interview. In our traditional MBA Interview Prep we will:

  • Brief you on what to expect through a detailed MBA interview strategy session
  • Conduct your mock interview via Skype, providing feedback and coaching to enhance performance
  • Ensure you’re interview ready – not over-rehearsed, but someone who can speak with confidence, reflect on past experiences and clearly convey your personal strengths and future potential

Additional Interview Prep

Want more interview practice? Applying to multiple schools with different interview formats? Add a second mock interview and de-brief session.

Group Interview Prep

Nail the team-based interview. This is an unparalleled opportunity to interact with other candidates in a simulated group interview session, moderated by a former MBA Admissions Director at Wharton.
Schools like Wharton and Ross place strong emphasis on collaborative teamwork and informed leadership but the team-based interview can be an intimidating prospect. A “dry-run” is a great way to feel more comfortable on your actual interview day. This option includes a group interview prep session, a 30-minute group interview with other applicants and individual feedback.

HBS Interview Prep

Ace the Harvard Business School interview with guidance from a former senior member of the HBS staff. The HBS interview is famed for its specificity and intensity – from its 30-minute time limit to the post-interview reflection due within 24 hours. Not only are all interviews conducted personally by the Admissions Committee, it’s the only M7 school besides MIT Sloan where your interviewers will have read your full application. In this HBS-specific prep package, you’ll learn the key differentiators that make the HBS interview distinctive, what its Admissions Committee is looking for and how to make the best possible impression with your limited time. We’ll also facilitate a post-interview debrief and brainstorm ideas with you for the written reflection.

MBA Waitlist Strategy

Finding yourself on the MBA waitlist is a bittersweet result. You’re a highly eligible candidate, but will you or won’t you get selected for a spot in the incoming class?

Being stuck in this limbo situation can be seriously stressful. Use our experience managing waitlists and interacting with waitlisted candidates, and get top tips on how to potentially tip the balance in your favor. During two hours of coaching support we will:

  • Review your application package for one school
  • Debrief with you on your MBA admissions interviews and provide you with our assessment of the weaknesses of your candidacy
  • Work with you to craft a strategy for improving your chances of being admitted
  • Give you advice on the “dos and don’ts” of communicating with the school during this critical period

We will also make ourselves available to you for additional or ongoing coaching support on an hourly basis.

Rejected MBA Applicant Strategy

Unsuccessful in your MBA application? Wondering why and what to do next? Work with a Fortuna Admissions Director to maximize the learning from your rejection and move forward with confidence. We will:

  • Provide a candid assessment of your entire application package
  • Analyze your interview experience, if relevant
  • Provide you with an expert opinion on the most likely reasons for your rejection
  • Help you develop a strategy for successful reapplication in the following admissions cycle – including whether you should reapply to the same school, and/or which other schools you should target
