1. Free Consultation

2. Application Submission & Interview Debrief
You’ll share your complete application package with your coach — including essays, resume, recommender strategy, and anything else submitted. You’ll also provide a debrief of your interview experience so we can assess what may have helped or hurt your case.
3. Application Analysis & Strategy Session
Your coach will thoroughly review your materials and analyze likely reasons for the waitlist decision. Then, during a strategy session, we’ll walk you through tailored recommendations for strengthening your candidacy, including:
- How to frame any updates or new developments

Our MBA waitlist service includes two hours of one-on-one coaching with a Fortuna expert or senior expert coach. You’ll get a full application review, interview debrief, tailored strategic advice, and a written summary of recommendations. Additional hours can be purchased if you’d like help drafting a waitlist letter or planning follow-up communications such as additional recommendations.
This package is designed for one program. If you’ve been waitlisted at multiple schools you can purchase additional time or discuss a custom plan with your waitlist consultant.
Top MBA programs maintain waitlists to manage enrollment and shape the class with precision. It gives schools the flexibility to admit more candidates as responses come in from admitted students. Being waitlisted means you’re still in the running – and a strategic response can significantly improve your waitlist chances.
There are a multitude of possible reasons. Maybe your post-MBA goals weren’t clearly articulated, some of your interview responses didn’t land, or the admissions committee wasn’t convinced that you are truly motivated to join the school. Sometimes it’s simply timing or class balance. Since schools don’t give feedback, we’ll help you identify likely issues and create a targeted plan for how to get off the MBA waitlist.
Schools know that being waitlisted is a difficult limbo situation for candidates and so don’t waitlist candidates they don’t think they might admit, and don’t keep candidates on the waitlist for longer than is necessary. Admissions teams will review the waitlist regularly and especially after deposit deadlines for admitted candidates, so that they can offer spots to waitlisted candidates as soon as they become available. Some waitlisted candidates get confirmed offers within a few weeks, but for some it can be months, and could be shortly before the program start.
